Averett University Archives & Special Collections
The Averett University Archives and Special Collections is located on the second floor of Mary Blount Library. The Archives collects, organizes, maintains and provides access to records and materials that have enduring value to the history of the University. In addition to Averett University records, the Archives collects and preserves materials that document the life and community of the University, which includes faculty, students, staff and alumni. The Archives also contains limited resources relating to the city of Danville and local region.
We collect the following types of records: University Records, Manuscript Collections, and Special Collections. Our University Records and Manuscripts are cataloged in finding aids that are available in the Archives. Special Collections' materials are rare or valuable materials that are individually cataloged in our library catalog. This includes faculty publications, university publications, local history materials, and other items.
